Description
1.This is the new for MEGA2560 R3. In addition to all the features of the previous board, the MEGA now uses an ATMega16U2 instead of the ATMega8U2 chip.
This allows for faster transfer speeds and more memory. No drivers are needed for Linux or (an inf file is needed for Windows and is included in the for IDE), and the ability to display Uno as a keyboard, mouse, joystick, etc.
2.The MEGA2560 R3 also adds SDA and SCL pins alongside the AREF. Also, there are two new pins near the reset pin. One is the IOREF which allows the shields to adapt to the voltage provided from the plate.
The other is not connected and is reserved for future purposes. The MEGA2560 R3 works with all existing shields but can be retrofitted to newer shields that use these additional pins.
New features:
1.Pinout: added SDA and SCL pins that are near the AREF pin and two other new pins placed near the reset pin, the IOREF that allows the shields to adapt to the voltage provided from the board. In the future, the shields will be compatible with both the board that the AVR uses, which operates on 5V. The second is a pin that is not connected, which is reserved for future.
